A shamrock is a type of clover, used as a symbol of Ireland. Saint Patrick, one of Ireland's patron saints, is said to have used it as a metaphor for the Christian Holy Trinity
They are also both used to symbolize good luck. However, there are a few differences between the two. For starters, shamrocks always have three leaves, while clovers can have a fourth leaf. Shamrocks are usually green, but you can find purple, green or white clover.
The St. Patrick's Day charms are made of a metal alloy and enamel. The alloy makes the charms hard and durable and the enamel brings the St. Patrick's Day charms vivid green color.
